Color Contacts

  • Color Contacts: Works on All Color Eyes
  • Choosing the right color contact lens for you requires a little more thought and understanding of color contact lenses and how they work.
  • Good lenses leverage your natural eye color to achieve a balance of contrast. Single pigment lenses generally look good on dark and brown eyes.
  • Darker shades of single pigment lenses also look good on naturally light eyes but lighter shades may look a little lifeless and bland.
  • Types of Color Contact Lenses
  • There are 2 basic types of colored contacts, tinted and opaque. Tints being transparent gives a very subtle effect and as such are great for enhancing rather than changing the color of your eyes.
  • Opaque lenses are very much more effective if you want a definite color change especially if you have dark or brown color eyes.
  • Pigmentation & Comfort
  • There are again 2 types of opaque lenses, coated and impregnated. The color, with impregnated lenses, are enfolded and as such are part of the lens, not merely coated onto its surface. You can pick a coated lens by gently rubbing it between you thumb and forefinger, you will be able to feel the texture of the pigmentation.
  • Both are safe but customer feedback is that impregnated lenses are much more comfortable. They are less likely to irritate your eyes and will extend your comfortable wear time. Impregnated lenses are certainly the way to go if you have sensitive eyes.
